A central premise of A Course in Miracles is that we have an Inner Teacher to whom we can turn for guidance. Developing a relationship with this Teacher is a major function of the Course’s curriculum.
Soon after the Course’s publication, however, it became clear that the type of guidance students were seeking wasn’t deepening this relationship. Indeed, a focus on praying for specific guidance was keeping them from peace.
The Song of Prayer supplement was scribed by Helen Schucman to answer this dilemma. This video provides a full reading and discussion of the first section of the supplement, on prayer. The other two sections of the supplement, on forgiveness and healing, will be read and discussed in a following video.
