The Only Remaining Freedom

It is no exaggeration to say we live in interesting times. The world appears to be in a state of flux with division and opposition ‘the order of the day.’ Yet, according to A Course in Miracles, our function remains the same: to practice forgiveness, “in every difficulty, all distress, and each perplexity” (T-31.VIII.3:2).

We are not called to change the world. This, however, doesn’t mean that we are called to be disinterested in the world, since our perceptions of it provide the material for our healing, and thus for inspired action (or nonaction).

This podcast emphasises the importance that the choice for forgiveness plays, and how it is our “only remaining freedom” in this world. It includes a reading of the essay, ‘The Only Remaining Freedom,’ from Reflection on A Course in Miracles: Volume One, along with a discussion of the classic ‘trolley problem’ in ethics and of Albert Camus’ thoughts on the danger to artists (read, ‘spiritual seekers’) during interesting times.
