A Course in Miracles contains many passages describing the world as a desert; a place devoid of live-giving sustenance. This is our experience when identified with the ego and its thought system of separation. Yet, we can be reluctant to leave the desert when provided with a clear and attainable means of doing so.
This podcast explores why a sense of helplessness can haunt us, keeping us from choosing freedom. It includes a reading of ‘Leaving the Desert,’ an essay from Reflections on ‘A Course in Miracles’: Volume Two,” which discusses the experiment that led Dr. Martin Seligman to define the branch of psychology known as Positive Psychology. We also look at ‘Karpman’s Drama Triangle’ and how it relates to special relationships, and conclude with a discussion of the fear of redemption.
