From Paralysis to Fatigue

Psychosomatic complaints were Sigmund Freud’s early focus. In them he discovered how inner conflict surrounding shame and guilt can manifest in an extraordinary array of physical symptoms, including pain. Modern neuroscience supports Freud’s assumptions, emphasising the role of thoughts in pain perception.

This podcast includes a reading of ‘Pain and the Brain,’ from Alchemists of Suburbia: A Course in Miracles, Psychology, and the Art of Integration, which looks at modern pain theory considering principles from A Course in Miracles.

The podcast concludes with a case study of violinist Eddy Chen who, along with Brett Yang, forms part of the musical comedy duo, TwoSet Violin.
