Feeling Neglected

A major component of the creation myth at the heart of “A Course in Miracles” is our longing for special favour from God, a longing that went unanswered and so seemed to create a rift in our relationship to the Divine. Our lives seem to re-enact this divine slight to our importance, and we design ways to meet our need to feel secure — to feel significant, noticed, and acceptable. To be overlooked is akin to abandonment.

This podcast includes a reading of ‘The Favourite’ from “Jung and A Course in Miracles,” which addresses the above using John Milton’s tale of Satan’s fall from grace in “Paradise Lost.”
